Oh God, not again. Yes, that's what Haiti needs: more debt for an influx of more guns.
Where will the money come from to buy these weapons?
Naturally, from the people selling them--either in the form of a new loan or a portion of the millions pledged at the donor's conference. Since the US doesn't seem to have any intention of releasing the money, they'll gladly cash it in as a subsidy for American companies.
Who will get them? The police or the government's nominal "al
lies"? Or should we just wait a few months/years so they can be looted with the others?
Ah, and we'll also need "advisors" and technicians to train the police in using their new weapons. Don't worry: the State Department will pay the contractors and add it to the bill.
The sad thing is, this will probably happen.
