Funds to Aid Haitian Women
Six corporate attorneys at Chadbourne & Parke completed work last month in the cause of raising nearly $2 million in new foreign capital for impoverished women in Haiti.
Working with pro bono client Fonkoze Financial Services, Haiti's largest microfinance institution, the Chadbourne team created a capital mix of long-term debt and equity to enable more than 100,000 women to finance small-business initiatives.
The team consisted of associates Sheila Peluso, Erin Tandler, Josh Williams and Abigail Caplovitz, and partner Peter Ingerman.
The project was referred by New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, where Chadbourne partner Thomas Bezanson is a board member.
