Haiti Forum and Press conference at the Democratic National Convention in Boston
on July 27, 2004 (9:30 - 3:30)
at the Media Arts Building,
1234 Columbus Avenue,
Roxbury Community College,
Roxbury, MA 02120

Press conference speakers shall include:
Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Congressman John Conyers, Congresswoman Janice Shakowsky, Congressman Donald Payne, Congressman Charles Rangel, Congressman Major Owens, Kevin Pina, Partners in Health, Charles Olgetree, Margaret Prescod, Fanmi Lavalas, The National Lawyers Guild, the Haitian Lawyers Leadership Network, Haitkaah Social Justice Project, A.N.S.W.E.R Coalition (Act Now To Stop War and End Racism), Haiti Action Committee and the New England Human Rights Organization for Haiti.

New human rights reports, testimonies and information shall be di
stributed and the event sponsors will collectively present the Haiti Resolution urging the Democratic Party and nominee to include these six-points in its platform:

- Return Constitutional rule to Haiti;

- Stop the killings of Lavalas supporters;

- Release all the political prisoners;

- Disarm, prosecute and bring the death squads, convicted killers and thugs to justice;

- Help rebuild the Haitian police excluding from its ranks those who helped to overthrow the democratically elected government or any known human rights violators;

- Give temporary asylum (TPS) to the fleeing Haitian refugees, and support the call by the OAS/CARICOM and by Congresswoman Barbara Lee's T.R.U.T.H Act - HR 3919 for an investigation into the overthrow of Haiti's democracy.
