"The first round of voting was originally scheduled for Oct. 15 and postponed so more people could register".
Isn't that nice! They want everyone's vote to count!
"Now that more than 3 million people have registered"
See, while we weren't watching a few million people registered in a twinkle!
Postponed the elections doesn't mean that the Haitian people wouldn't have a president in 2006.

The elections dates have been rescheduled is not a setback, but as you said Jaf to allow more individuals who are eligible to vote to take advantage of this free digital ID card.
This ID will show that the individual has made the first step of his civic duty.
The International community has a quota of registered voters that they believe would be acceptable to the res
t of the world. More people registered the better. If they reach that quota, their job stops right there.

Now the next step, the International Community couldn't do it. It's up to the Haitians people to decide if they want to go to the polls and select the President that will lead them for the next 5 years.

It's just like you have a hot World Cup final Brazil Germany ticket in your hand, and right at the front gate.

Jaf, You decide!!

Jaf wrote:
Michel, what is the word out of Washington this week?
Jaf, Happy New Year to you and your family and to all Ann Pale members. There is a recess in Washington because of the holidays but everybody is aware of the situation in Haiti, and starting Tuesday, things are going to start spinning very fast.
This week two officials with the Organization of American States working to prepare Haiti for elections have been kidnapped in Port-au-Prince.
If those guys who are mandate to protect the Haitian people can not protect themselves, their presence in Haiti is questionable, said an election observer.
Things are turning ugly and Washington is not too happy about it. Canada is threatening to stop funding and concerning returning with the idea of protectorate again as an option.

Last September, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told the interim government that it
must put a democratically elected government in the National Palace by a constitutional deadline of Feb. 7 in order to assure its political legitimacy.
That did not happen!
The Washington Post reported it as a big blow to the International Community and they are leaving themselves wide open for criticism.
And now, Miami Herald reported that infighting and disorganization kept pushing the dates back, from October to November to the most recently set date of Jan. 8.
Now at least one council member says Feb. 7 is not even realistic for the first round.
''I think we need two or three months at least,'' said Patrick Fequiere.
The U.S. Embassy in Haiti declined comment.
Something big is going to happen and I don't know what it is.

Jaf mwen sanle di ke se w ki gen rezon. Min mwen pap ba w legin fasil konsa. Map tan toujou paske bagay yo pral chofe seriezeman nan Washington.
Anpil moun pa kontan deja de sa kap fet an
Ayiti.
Dominikin yo di an pliziye fwa ke sitiasiyon politik, ekonomik e sosiyal peyi d'Ayiti gen youn efe negativ sou peyi pa yo.
Zilè Ispagnola samble youn kannot ki panche sou youn sel bo e ki san lè chavirè pote tout zilè ale. Fok youn bagay seriye fet nan peyi sa.
Interim govenman ap lonje dwet sou OAS, ki yo memm ap lonje dwet sou UN.
