URGENT ALERT - SEXUAL PREDATOR RON VOSS PROTECTED BY MARGUERITE LAURENT,HLLN

Yesterday, Marguerite Laurent (alias Erzilidanto) of the Haitian
Lawyers Leadership Network (HLLN), sent an email requesting that concerned friends of Haiti DEMAND that RON VOSS, a NOTED SEXUAL PREDATOR AND HOMOSEXUAL PEDOPHILE, be released from questioning by the Haitian Police and MINUSTHA.

It is a sad day indeed if so-called lovers of democracy and justice take up arms to defend a defrocked priest who has abused hundreds of boys while a priest in Indiana. What does this say about the morality of Marguerite Laurent (Erzilidanto), of her network and of her allies, when they defend and protect dangerous social deviants and sociopaths who have caused untold damage and committed unspeakable acts on defenseless young children in the United States and in Haiti?

Who i
s Ron Voss?

Ron Voss is an American who was a Catholic priest in Indiana for many years. In 1997, many years before the well-publicized hunt for sexual predators in the Catholic Church resulted in arrests and convictions, the Indianapolis Star published a series of investigative articles which identified Ron Voss as a pedophile and sexual predator. This happened four years after he fled the United States to settle in Haiti, with the complicity of his superiors in the Catholic Church - Bishop William Higi in particular who has made a career out of protecting pedophile priests and sabotaging investigations into sexual crimes committed by these sexual predators. What is interesting is that Ron Voss has gone back to call himself a PRIEST in Haiti, when in fact he chose to return to lay life to escape prosecution and a church inquiry in Indiana. [1] [2] [3]

Voss sexually abused teenagers at a family camp, no less. And these are only the DOCUMENTED cases. How many other children fell victim to Voss's
sexual deviance? AND HOW MANY HAITIAN BOYS HAVE BEEN RAPED BY THIS SEXUAL PREDATOR? HOW MANY FAMILIES HAVE SUFFERED THE INDIGNITY OF HAVING THIS PEDOPHILE HURT THEIR LOVED ONES? AND WHY HASN'T ANY AUTHORITY IN HAITI INVESTIGATED THIS NOTED SOCIOPATH?

Ron Voss was actually a friend of former President Jean Bertrand Aristide [4]. So it stands to reason that he would be protected from prosecution and shielded from the law by a noted foe of democracy. But in the meantime, how many crimes has he committed in Haiti against children?

You Need to Take Action Today!!!

You need to take steps TODAY to protect Haitian children against sexual crimes, whether from Haitian sexual predators or foreign ones like Ron Voss. You need to take action today and do the following:

1. Call on the Haitian government to expel from Haiti all known sexual predators, INCLUDING RON VOSS, who got a slap on the wrist in Indiana from permanently scarring eight teenagers and abusing countless other children who ne
ver came forward.

2. Ask the Haitian Lawyer Leadership Network and its allies to STOP PROTECTING AND DEFENDING KNOWN AND NOTED SEXUAL PREDATORS who are hurting Haiti's youth.

SHAME ON MARGUERITE LAURENT (ERZILIDANTO) AND OTHERS FROM THAT SHADOWY NETWORK FOR PROMOTING SEXUAL DEVIANCY IN HAITI UNDER THE COVER OF THEIR PRO-ARITISDE CAMPAIGN!!!

IT IS ONE THING TO ENTER THE POLITICAL FRAY TO DEFEND A VIEW POINT. IT IS ANOTHER TO PUT IN PERIL DEFENSELESS HAITIAN CHILDREN WHO HAVE NO RECOURSE AGAINST FOREIGN PEDOPHILES AND SOCIOPATHS!!!

CALL ON THE HAITIAN GOVERNMENT TO START PROSECUTING PRIESTS AND OTHER CLERGY WHO HAVE ATTACKED CHILDREN!!! RON VOSS IS NOT THE ONLY ONE!!! HOW MANY LOCAL CLERGYMEN HAVE RAPED AND MOLESTED CHILDREN???

ASK RON VOSS SUPPORTERS - WHO DID NOT KNOW ABOUT HIS PREVIOUS BACKGROUND AND SEXUAL PROCLIVITIES - TO DISSASOCIATE THEMSELVES FROM HIM ... NOW!!!

IF YOU ARE IN THE UNITED STATES, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SUPPORT THE MANY GROUPS THAT ARE TRYING TO
BRING TO JUSTICE THE THOUSANDS OF SEXUAL DEVIANT PRIESTS WHO HAVE FLED THE UNITED STATES WITH THE PROTECTION OF SUCH TRAITORS AS BISHOP HIGI, BERNARD CARDINAL LAW, AND COUNTLESS OTHER OBSTRUCTIONISTS OF JUSTICE.

AND REMEMBER, THESE FLEEING PRIESTS HAVE NOT REJECTED THEIR PAST LIFESTYLES. LIVING IN COUNTRIES WITH WEAK LEGAL SYSTEMS AND DESTITUTE CITIZENS - WHO SOMETIMES WILL SELL THEIR UNDERAGE CHILDREN TO DEVIANTS LIKE VOSS TO EARN A LIVING - ONLY CONTRIBUTES TO THESE PREDATORS FOISTING THEIR SICK SEXUAL NEEDS ON HELPLESS VICTIMS.

RON VOSS = ALBERT SHANLEY = PEDOPHILE ABUSERS OF DEFENSELESS CHILDREN

WARNING ABOUT EX-PRIEST URGED SUSPECTED ABUSER IS A THREAT TO KIDS IN HAITI, AND CHURCH SHOULD ACT, GROUP SAYS.
by Robert King
October 9, 2004

A former priest accused of abusing eight male teenagers in Indiana a decade ago poses an ongoing threat to children in Haiti, and the Catholic Church should do something to stop him, a national group that represents abuse victims said Friday.

The Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests, or SNAP, said Indiana's Catholic bishops also should do more to find others victimized by Ron Voss, who resigned his ministry in 1993 and now lives in Haiti.

"We would like to see the bishops do what Jesus Christ told us to do: go out and find the lost and wounded sheep," David Clohessy, SNAP's national director, said at a news conference in
front of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis headquarters.

Voss was a priest in the Diocese of Lafayette, which was the subject of a report that appeared in The Indianapolis Star in 1997. It documented claims of abuse against 16 priests, including Voss, and that diocese's effort to keep the cases quiet.

Voss was not criminally charged.

Efforts to reach him in Haiti were unsuccessful.

Clohessy called on Indianapolis Archbishop Daniel M. Buechlein to use Catholic publications and media to warn others about Voss, reach out to Voss' victims and help police and prosecutors tackle his case.

Susan Borcherts, a spokeswoman for the archdiocese, said Buechlein has no influence over the Diocese of Lafayette, which is headed by Bishop William L. Higi.

Monsignor Robert Sell, the vicar general in Lafayette, said Voss having been granted a request to return to being a lay member of the church was no longer a priest and was not under the authority of the Lafayette Dioce
se.

But Sell said it was his understanding that Voss continues to do volunteer work in Haiti through a program that encourages Catholic parishes in America to partner with parishes in Haiti for assistance and help with parish life.

The Star's 1997 report revealed that Voss, a native of Anderson, abused teens at a family camp in northern Delaware County.

After accusations arose against him in 1988, he received therapy and moved to Haiti.

Clohessy said Voss' move resembles a pattern exposed recently by the Dallas Morning News. That paper documented how accused priests frequently move or are transferred overseas often to Third World countries where law enforcement is lax and
children in poverty are vulnerable.

"This report has re-kindled our long-standing worries about shrewd, abusive clergy who now live in other countries," Clohessy wrote in his letter to Archbishop Buechlein.

Sell said Voss was no longer a threat to children because he has gone through and continu
es to take part in therapy. Experts have determined Voss "was not a threat to minors and that he had an awareness of what his weakness and proclivities might be," Sell said.

The Lafayette Diocese contacted state Child Protection Services officials about each case involving Voss that it became aware of, but the state took no action, Sell said. Further, the diocese's weekly newspaper continues to publish notices urging victims of abuse by any priest to contact authorities, he said.

Clohessy, who will speak today about the abuse scandal at St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 46th and Illinois streets, said the bishops should do more than wait for the phone to ring.

"All too often we see the bishops doing the bare minimum," he said.

SHAME ON YOU!

This surely appears like politically-motivated payback and character assassination of the worst kind.

I have not read a single word, ever, from Marguerite Laurent, that can be interpreted as supporting pedophilia. That charge is absurd.

Has Ron Voss been charged with pedophilia in Haiti, or is his greatest and unforgivable crime that of being a friend of Aristide? If there is a charge of pedophilia against Ron Voss, he of course MUST answer the charges. But the evidence here shows that you have simply dug some dirt from Ron Voss's past for purely political reasons, which many will translate as sheer HATRED of Aristide.

IF MEMORY SERVES ME RIGHT, I CANNOT REMEMBER ANYONE FROM ANY POLITICAL PARTY IN HAITI, BE IT LAVALAS, BE IT GNB, BE IT 184, BE IT ANY DEDICATED ANTI-LAVALAS GROUP, WHO HAS SUPPORTED OR SPONSORED PEDOPHILIA IN HAITI OR ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD. THANK GOD, I DO NOT KNOW ANY HAITIAN WHO WOULD BE SO VILE.

From what I can tell, very clearly, Marguerite Laurent has come out against any form of political harassment against Haitians who have opposed the coup d'etat in February 2004. And for that, she deserves to have her good name destroyed and to be dragged in the mud, in the fratricidal manner to which we have become accustomed in Haiti?

Take Marguerite Laurent on, as you will, on her principled defiance of the coup d'état. If you are in favor of the coup, that would make sense. But there are some limits that we should all respect, AS HUMAN BEINGS.

SHAME ON EVERY PERSON WHO USES A PUBLIC FORUM AS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR CHARACTER ASSASSINATION.

This is political opportunism of the worst kind.

It saddens my heart to see people whom I respected, even if I differed from them politically, engage in this fratricidal and most abhorrent behavior.
