Yes indeed, this, among the most important of philosophers, had a language which the lowest of the chinese could comprehend.

There was very little abstraction in his pronouncements. This was the reason western religion or any others, had a "devil" of a time having a solid foothold in China:

His teaching was simple:

Love others; honor one's parents; do what is right instead of what is of advantage; practice "reciprocity" i.e "don't do to others what you would not want do to yourself".

And to the rulers:

Rule by moral example instead of force and violence.

A ruler who had to resort to force had already failed as a ruler--

"Your job is to govern not to kill" (Analects XII:19)

"Governments by punishments could keep people in line, but government by example of virtue and good manners would enable them to control themselves"

"The way the wind blows, that's the way the grass bends"

YES INDEED!
